Statement of Faith

Scripture

I believe the Bible to be the only inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority for all Christian faith and life.

God

I believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, collectively known as the Trinity. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. He created the world in six days and continues to hold it together.

Jesus

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Fully God and fully human, He lived a sinless life on earth. Innocent of sin Himself, His sacrificial death on the cross paid in full the debt which man owed God for sin. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He presently sits at the right hand of God the Father. At a time and date known only to God the Father, Jesus will return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit

I believe the Holy Spirit lives within each believer, renewing and transforming their hearts and minds. He convicts, guides, counsels, comforts, and equips believers for godly living and service.

Sin and Salvation

I believe sin entered the world through Adam and Eve’s disobedience. As a result, we are all born with a sinful nature and deserve eternal punishment. God demanded payment for sin, one we could not make. He showed great mercy to us by allowing His sinless son, Jesus to satisfy our sin-debt. It is only through Jesus’ shed blood that our sins are forgiven and our relationship with God restored.

Sin still exists in the world, but God grants forgiveness for the sins of those who confess faith in Jesus as their Savior. This is a free, undeserved gift which demonstrates God’s grace, mercy, and love. Believers receive renewed hearts and minds through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Church

I believe the church is not a place but is composed of all people who profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Christians worldwide are united spiritually in Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church. Christians are commissioned to share the saving gospel of Jesus Christ with the world through their words and actions.

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9, ESV
